She has had the privilege of working with athletes of all ranges: Olympians, professional athletes, octogenarians and adolescents. Her work has taken her to China and Africa. Being a musician herself, she takes a special interest in musician injuries. She has assisted in teaching orthopaedic clinical skills classes at UBC and is an Orthopaedic Division mentor with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Grace is bilingual (English and Cantonese) and has given educational talks and media interviews in both languages (with a whole lot of practice in Cantonese!). Cherry Tung
Acupuncturist, R. Ac
About Cherry +
Cherry is a Registered Acupuncturist in Vancouver BC with a doctorate degree in acupuncture. She is
also a registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner in Hong Kong for over 10 years.
She focuses on helping individuals restore physical balance and recover from other chronic and systemic
conditions so that they can enjoy life with improved mobility, flexibility and overall wellness.
Her first encounter with acupuncture was at birth when her mother had prolonged difficulties in
delivering her to life. Her father named her Cherry, short for the cherry blossom symbolizing rebirth
and resilience.
Raised in a family with generations of medical background, she has extensive exposure to both
traditional Chinese and Western medicines.
To Cherry, healing is about empowering people for a second wind. How we perceive the root cause makes all
the difference in treatment.
Acupuncture has also empowered
Cherry’s own recovery. She knows well first-hand how it feels to be woken up to pain and constrained
in daily activities.
Enlightened by the process of healing, she sees the human body as a river: smooth flow enhances
vitality whereas stagnant flow creates blockages. Most tension, pain and degeneration are rooted in
structural misalignment and blockages. When the human body has restored supply of blood and
nurturing energies, it will start its own healing process.
Most patients came to Cherry with a complex mix of symptoms involving different parts of the body
and systemic disorders. Seeing the body as interconnected, she takes the time to assess the whole
body and trace the seemingly unrelated symptoms to the root.
More than pain management, Cherry uses acupuncture to relieve blockages and misalignments that
are closely related to a diverse range of dermatological, digestive, gynecological, immunological,
neurological, respiratory, sleep and mood disorders.
With her delicate needling and palpation techniques, she tailors effective treatment for individuals to
restore balance and mobility for lasting wellness, from head to toe.
